33k Course
Start to Yellow Fork Aid - 7.8 miles +1,190/-937 ft
This first section is the long warmup. Nice flowy single track trails that are wide enough to allow passes because nothing is worse than a conga line of runners. After completing a 3.3 mile loop you will join the main trail your fellow 50 mile and 33k runners are already on ensuring runners are even more spread out. You will be rewarded to an amazing sunrise over the Wasatch Mountains as you traverse along this ridge. Enjoy it, the next stretch is when the real fun begins.
Yellow Fork Loop (33k) - 4.8 miles +837/-837 ft
Hands down the most scenic section of the course overall. This loop is the highlight of the 33k except maybe the sunrise from the previous section. Start up the Big Rock trail and follow the 33k sign to continue up this trail to an overlook before you drop back down the Rose Canyon road to the aid station.
Finish - 7.8 miles +937/-1,190 ft
Do not underestimate this section due to the lower amount of elevation gain or how great it felt in the morning. You are now much more tired and this last stretch will push you. Bring plenty of water from the aid station. You will finish the last couple of miles on the beautiful and shaded Butterfield Canyon trails giving you that extra push to finish this race strong and hopefully smiling.
20.3 miles and +2,862 ft elevation total
76% Dirt Trail, 12% Fire Road, 12% Dirt Road
See table above for cutoff times, crew, and drop bag info. No pacers allowed for 33k

*We will have trail marshals, signs, and cones directing runners at the Yellow Forks Aid station due to this being two aid stations. Makes it easy for your friends and family to cheer you on!
Hydration vest or bottle REQUIRED.
Aid Stations
Aid stations will have Tailwind (caffeine and non caffeine), water, Honey Stinger gels/waffles, fruit, coke/ginger ale, and an assortment of whatever looks good at Costco that the race director wants an excuse to eat. This usually at least includes chips, candy, rice krispies, hostess products, trail mix, granola bars, and uncrustables.
Yellow Fork Aid Station for the 50 miler, 50k, and 33k located at the Yellow Fork Trailhead has plenty of parking. Crew are welcome to come hang out with us at the aid station and cheer you on.
Navigation
Course is well marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals. The flagging will come before, during, and after the turn. This flagging will be on the same side of the trail as the turn. For example, a right turn will have flagging on the right side of the trail before and after the right turn.
We will only mark turns, trail changes or areas we feel need it. If you come to an intersection or see a trail branching off the main trail and there are no flags stay on the same trail and continue straight. This course will be well marked.
