Marathon

This race starts off in the heart of Highland City at Mitchell Hollow Park. Beautiful park with great Fall colors and amazing views of Mount Timpanogos. You will set out on the Murdock Canal Trail and head East until you reach your first aid station at Glen Park.

From here the hardest section begins as you begin to climb. Take in amazing views of Mount Timpanogos and remember to breathe. Once you reach the Cedar Hills Aid Station you get to turn around and enjoy the well earned downhill back to Glen Park.

From Glen Park you head to Art Dye Park. This short section is possibly the most pretty. Once you reach Art Dye Park you turn around and head back the way you came to meet up with the Half Marathon course.

After leaving the half way point the next 2 miles offer incredible views of the Wasatch Front mountains until you reach Timp View Aid Station.

From here you continue following the Murdock Canal Trail for another 2 miles to the next aid station crossing under tunnels to keep you out of reach from the busy Timpanogos Highway.

Shortly after reaching the second aid station you will cross a huge pedestrian bridge that spans the entire Timpanogos Highway. This grants you access to the Utah Rail Trail. Run through a beautiful city setting for the next two miles to the turn around aid station at Shadow Ridge Park.

Cutoff

The halfway cutoff is 11:45 am for safety, permits, and volunteers being out. If you don't make the cutoff you will still receive a finishers medal for the Half Marathon as the cutoff is literally 13.1 miles. This location is the start/finish area making it an ideal place for a cutoff. We feel this is a generous cutoff with the runner needing to average a 17 minute mile.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will have Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels/waffles, fruit, and an assortment of whatever looks good at Costco that the race director wants an excuse to eat. Usually Swedish Fish or Nerd Clusters.

Navigation

Course is marked with pink flags, cones, and trail marshals. Course stays entirely on paved trails.
