South Mountain Half Marathon
South Mountain includes all of the paved trails runners have come to love in Draper. Namely the Porter Rockwell Trail and Canal Trail. The half marathon also includes the best parts of Draper City itself. The trails are absolutely beautiful at the end of April when Spring is at its strongest! This race will always be held the last Saturday of April.
We were able to hold our last two races in 2020 and both were a success in terms of safety and managing covid precautions. Our races are smaller in size due to taking place on the trails and we are confident we can safely hold these events in 2021.
We will always put our runners first. We will do whatever we can to make this race happen while keeping the runners safe. If we are unable to do this runners will be issued credits or refunds. We are optimistic though and really hope with the vaccine and safety measures we will begin beating this virus!

Word of mouth
Your friends and family are the best way to promote this race. Running is much more fun with a buddy!
These events are not possible without help! To show our appreciation all volunteers will receive a free race entry for any future Happy Trails race. Expires after one year. In addition volunteers will have access to food at the finish line area. Click here for more info!
Same as normal registration your child will receive a medal and shirt. We honestly will lose money with offering registrations this cheap but we know it can be expensive to sign up the whole family. My wife is a Kindergarten teacher who loves kids and I am a Personal Trainer who strongly believes in children staying active due to childhood obesity drastically increasing. Tell those kids to step away from the video games and go running! We would love to see our 5ks filled with families.
Begins April 5th and closes April 23rd at 9:59 pm
We cannot guarantee all participants registering after April 5th will be able to order a shirt. We will order extra to do our best to accommodate late registration. If we do not have your size or you do not want a shirt you can use code NOSHIRT at checkout for $10 off registration.
Same Day Registration
Not available. Registration will close Friday night at 9:59 pm
Average high is 75*F and average low is 55*F on April 24th.
